Museum Of Aeronautical Sciences: A Museum Dedicated to Aircraft Adjacent to Narita Airport

A Hands-On Museum Experience for Both Adults and Children

Adjacent to Narita Airport, this facility opened its doors in the first year of the Heisei era with the aim of promoting and disseminating knowledge about aviation. In addition to aircraft exhibits, regular events such as flight simulations and aviation-related activities are held.

Upon entering the exhibition rooms, visitors are greeted by large-scale airplane models. With a paid ticket, visitors can even pilot these models from the cockpit located at the rear. Other highlights include jet engine models, passenger aircraft cabins, and life-size exhibits of fighter jets and medical helicopters.

In the Narita International Airport Corporation area, visitors can immerse themselves in various aspects of airport and aviation knowledge through interactive exhibits. Many exhibits are hands-on, and one particularly popular attraction allows children to see themselves as airport staff by interacting with displays.

Experience Watching Airplanes Fly By Up Close

At the observation deck and viewing terrace within the facility, visitors can enjoy a close-up view of airplanes taking off and landing at Narita Airport. Additionally, at the observation restaurant, guests can dine while watching airplanes. The children’s lunch served on airplane-shaped plates is particularly popular among kids.

Flight Experience

At the aviation museum, visitors can experience flight through simulators repurposed from pilot training equipment, or control a large model of the Boeing 787 from its cockpit. Beyond piloting, there are also aircraft interior tours available, making it a must-visit for those eager to learn more about airplanes.

Facilities for Babies

On the first floor, there are nursing rooms and diaper changing beds, providing peace of mind for visitors with infants. Please note that there is no hot water available for milk preparation, so you’ll need to bring your own. Additionally, we offer the rental of strollers (2 available), and except for the viewing terrace, the entire facility is accessible with strollers.
