Restaurant Steam Train: Recommended Dining Spots for Families with Children in Nasu

Just Like Dining at the Train Station

When you arrive, you’re greeted by a station-style exterior, surrounded by life-size locomotives and sections of bullet trains on display, setting the stage for excitement even before stepping inside.

Once indoors, you’re transported to a bygone era with the ambiance reminiscent of an old train station, each seat labeled with a station name. The abundance of train-related artifacts and models adds to the charm, with attractions like miniature Thomas the Tank Engine trains, and even train driving simulation games.

But the main attraction of this restaurant lies in the central feature—a track where your ordered dishes are delivered by a large locomotive. As the announcement echoes through the restaurant, signaling the approach of the train, anticipation builds until it arrives with a flourish of sound. There’s ample space alongside the tracks for children to get up close, observe, and capture photos of the locomotive as it passes by.

Recommended for Babies and Toddlers

Half of the restaurant features tatami seating, providing a comfortable environment even for babies and toddlers. Plus, they offer children’s lunches inspired by locomotives, which are sure to delight the little ones.

For adults, the main attraction is teppanyaki, featuring premium meats like Nasu Sangen Pork. Diners have the opportunity to cook their own meals right in front of them on the hot griddle.
